Finally managed to watch all 4? hours without interruption (damn girlfriend and kids!) and wanted to come back with a review. This dvd is amazing. 4 hours of pure jumbo jet! Cockpit explanations are detailed. Engineers walkaround gives some fantastic shots and all the flight crews are a pleasure to watch. Captain Dave Plewes is one of my favourite pilots on the DVD. He's only one one flight but he's by far the most enthusiastic and funny. Sounds like he loves the camera being there!
The attention to detail is just amazing. There are some good shots of Baku while flying overhead. I've been looking for a decent 747 classic DVD for a while. Believe me, this is the best one out there. It really does make you feel like your right on the flight deck. For 4 hours, this is a bargain buy! I'm pleased to say that this is my first JustPlanes DVD! It definitely wont be my last. The only thing I have to decide now is which DVD to buy next!

I have been meaning to send a comment before but after watching this video I finally decided that the time was right. WOW. What an amazing program. The pilots seemed to love having the crew with them and were very personable. I can't wait to watch more!

This program, which (as has been noted before) has the longest running time of any program yet produced by World Air Routes, is another winner for Just Planes! The crews are just fantastic, and it's great seeing the B747-200 freighters flying around the world from the privileged position of the flight deck of these classic birds. Thanks to all the wonderful flight crews for their outstanding contributions to this program. This is a truly entertaining program that is well worth its great value for the money, and I highly recommend it to everyone, especially anyone who loves the Boeing 747 Classics.

The longest running time of any one disk produced in the World Air Routes series. I am not surprised that there has so far been few comments about this fine production. It is true it covers a subject (Boeing 747-200\) that has been visited before. With that you have to rely upon the pilots along with the cameraman/ director Udo (Who I recon must have quite a few frequent flyer miles under his belt by now.) I must pay particular praise to Capt Plewes who showed great affection for not only the aircraft but aviation in general Running time 241 minutes. You do not realise the time because you are having fun

I bought the Air Atlanta Icelandic Video (featuring the L-1011) back in December 1999, the Air Atlanta Icelandic B747-100 & B767-200 DVD back in April 2002, the Air Atlanta Icelandic B747-400 DVD in April 2008, and I was hoping that WORLD AIR ROUTES (WAR) would released an Air Atlanta Icelandic DVD featuring the B747-200. In addition, I was hoping that WAR would release a B747 DVD featuring the B747 CLASSIC with Rolls Royce Engines. Therefore, I was glad that WAR released their AIR ATLANTA ICELANDIC B747-200 DVD. Please note that Boeing built only five B747-200 Combi with Rolls Royce Engines (including TF-ATX (ex G-BDXM) and TF-ARJ (ex G-BDXN). I would like to thank all the pilots for their contributions including Preflight Walkaround, Takeoff Briefing, Route Information, Cockpit Tour (including the F/E Panel), Progress of the Flight, Approach Briefing; and pointing out the fact that the Rolls Royce Engine has a N3 along with the N1 & N2. In addition, Captain Dave Plewes deserves extra praise for his sense of humor, passion for commercial aviation, and for giving the viewer additional information on Air Atlanta. All of the pilots/flight engineers have done a wonderful job in making the AIR ATLANTA ICELANDIC B747-200 DVD entertaining.
